13、lay in another city? that 引导的宾语从句,像know这样的词,还有say, think, believe, wish, hear, wonder, know, agree, hope等。,Language points,(1)含义在复合句中作宾语的句子叫宾语从句。在某些动词、形容词或介词之后都可以带有宾语从句。 (2)连接词 宾语从句的连接词主要分为三种:连接代词that;疑问代词或疑问副词;从属连词if/whether。 (3)跟在及物动词后的宾语从句 及物动词后面由that引导的宾语从句,常跟连接代词that引导宾语从句的动词有:agree、believe、dec
14、ide、hear、hope、imagine、know、notice、say、see、think、wish等,that在从句中无词义,不充当句子充分。在口语和非正式文体中,连接代词that可以省略。 例:I hear (that) he will help you with your French. 我听说他将帮助你学法语。,及物动词后由疑问代词或疑问副词引导的宾语从句宾语从句中常用的疑问代词主要有what、which、who、whom、whose等,疑问副词主要为when、how、where、why等,疑问代词和疑问副词在句中起连接作用,作句子成分,各有自己的意义。 例:Do you know
15、 what he did with that thing? 你知道他是怎样处理那件事的吗?,及物动词后面有if/whether引导的宾语从句if/whether引导宾语从句时,意为“是否”。注意:与or not或动词不定式连用时,连接词通常使用whether而不用if。 例:He asked if/whether she liked swimming.他问她是否喜欢游泳。,(4)跟在形容词后的宾语从句有些表示感情的形容词后面可以接宾语从句。这类形容词主要有sure、glad、sorry、happy、afraid等。 例:Im afraid that you cant afford this n
16、otebook.恐怕你买不起这个笔记本。,(5)跟在介词后的宾语从句 一般情况下介词后可接wh-连接词引导的宾语从句。 例:They are talking about when they are leaving for Shanghai.他们正在谈论什么时候动身去上海。 (6)注意事项 宾语从句的时态: 主句是一般现在时,从句可根据实际情况使用任何时态。,例:I know when the man left.我知道那个男人什么时候离开的。 主句是一般过去时,从句必须使用过去的某一时态。 例:He told me that Jim returned his book to him last S
17、unday.他告诉我吉姆上周日把书还给他了。,宾语从句的语序: 无论宾语从句的主语是陈述句还是疑问句,也无论从句用什么引导词,宾语从句一律用陈述句语序,即“引导词+主语+谓语+其他”。 例:Could you tell me where Ben lives?你能告诉我本住在哪里吗?,2. But the trip costs a lot of money. cost意为“花费,值”,主语常为物。 spend.on sth. / (in) doing sth. 在某物上花费/做某事花费 pay.(for).意为“付钱买”,主语是人。 take常用句式为It takes sb. some time
18、 to do sth. 表示花费某人多长时间做某事。,take, spend, cost和pay的用法都可以表示“花费”,但用法却不尽相同。,take后面常跟双宾语, 常见用法有以下几种: (1) It takes sb. 时间to do sth. 做某事花了某人多少时间。 例:It took them three years to build this road. 他们用了三年时间修完了这条路。,(2) doing sth. takes sb. 时间,做某事花了某人多少时间。 例:Repairing this car took him the whole afternoon. 他花了一下午修
19、车。spend的主语必须是人, 常用于以下结构: (1) spend timemoney on sth. 在上花费时间(金钱)。 例:I spent two hours on this maths problem. 这道数学题花了我两个小时。,(2) spend time/money (in) doing sth. 花费时间(金钱)做某事。 例:They spent two years (in) building this bridge. 他们花了两年时间造这座桥。 (3) spend money for sth. 花钱买 例:His money was spent for books. 他的
20、钱用来买书了。,pay的基本用法是: (1) pay (sb.) money for sth. 付钱(给某人)买 例:I have to pay them 20 pounds for this roomeach month. 我每个月要付20英磅的房租。 (2) pay for sth. 付的钱。 例:I have to pay for the book lost. 我不得不赔丢失的书款。,(3) pay for sb. 替某人付钱。 例:Dont worry! Ill pay for you. 别担心, 我会给你付钱的。 (4) pay sb. 付钱给某人。 例: They pay us e
21、very month.他们每月给我们报酬。 (5) pay money back 还钱。 例:May I borrow 12 yuan from you? Ill pay it back next week. 你能借给我12块钱吗?下周还你。 (6) pay off ones money 还清钱。,3. We need to make some money for the team!make money意思是“挣钱,赚钱”。 例:I want to make much money when I grow up.当我长大的时候我想挣很多的钱。make money by doing意思是“通过来赚
